Data Warehouse Data warehousing technologies have advanced dramatically in recent years. These offerings have shifted from basic data integration and processing systems to advanced analytical systems of processed data that deliver deep company insights. Much of the processing takes place in the Data Lake and the data warehouse becomes an “information consumer” like many other applications that use the Data Lake. However, the importance of the data warehouse is not lost or diminished, it is still where business specific processes and modeling occurs. It is positioned as the company’s informational center and “single source of truth”. Internal Data Data Lake Data Warehouse Entity Profile Reports & Dashboards THE CHALLENGE As one of the leading companies in the field of data warehouse construction over the last decade we have addressed many of the challenges associated with these processes. The technological challenges in dynamic information processing as well as intelligent data modeling can be addressed in a way that provides answers to a wide range of business questions. However, like many situations in BI, the biggest challenge is proper alignment of business needs to the appropriate technological solution. Solving for each unique business challenge is a simple task, but implementing a comprehensive solution while communicating successfully between the teams that have worked to establish a successful data warehouse is a more significant challenge WHY US ? We have conducted over 150 different data warehousing, self-service system, OEM system and data lake projects for various information platforms. We bring rich technological experience and experts who understand how to translate a business’ needs into the appropriate technological systems. Want to learn more? Contact Us

Companies today tend rely on different systems for each particular business need they have. Common business practices that rely upon specialized systems include: Customer Relationship Management (Sales Force), Customer Service and Support (Zendesk), Billing (Zuora) etc. Aside from internal company data, there is a lot of external data that exists outside of the company that can be valuable if used correctly. This data includes social network data, weather, public events, demographics, and more, all of which can be used to help shape the next product launch or marketing campaign. Internal Data Data Lake Data Warehouse Entity Profile Reports & Dashboards THE CHALLENGE Interpreting data from operating systems is not straightforward, it requires familiarity with the systems and with how to connect them. To add to the complexity, the stored data is not always readable or easy to retrieve and the systems work independently from each other. After successful data extraction, it’s important make sure everything is in sync since data is flowing in from multiple sources (including external sources). Most of these external systems are cloud based and have their own unique APIs. Integrating these external systems and their data with internal company data while displaying everything in one uniform and insightful way is not easy. WHY US ? Vision.bi has vast experience with integrating operational systems. We are familiar with over 40 APIs and when we encounter new systems we are quick to adjust. To help ensure quick and reliable data integration we have developed a product called Rivery that gathers useful external data and even loads it into cloud databases. Leverage our experience to save valuable time in trying to understanding a specific API, integration development, or data processing. Want to learn more? Contact Us

- Data Catalog | Vision.Bi
Data catalogs are a game changer when it comes to data access and analysis. Traditionally, data was accessed from a data warehouse and then analyzed by using BI tools like BusinessObjects and Cognos. However, with companies storing more data they can no longer be confined to just a data warehouse. Platforms like Hadoop have made it possible to expand data storage through the implementation of data lakes. Data Catalog Data catalogs are a game changer when it comes to data access and analysis. The departure from using a single location for data storage has resulted in a need to effectively access all the new data that a company collects and stores. Internal Data Data Lake Data Warehouse Entity Profile Reports & Dashboards THE CHALLENGE This kind of project is divided into two: the business process and the technical process. Both components come with their own kinds of challenges. At the business level, an organizational glossary is required in order for data cataloging to be effective. The glossary describes each of the key concepts within the company, how they are measured, who is responsible, where it can be found etc. A project of this type usually comes from the management and requires business understanding, the ability to lead processes with the various management personnel in the organization and the technical ability to connect the business language used to the level of data stored in the various sources of information. The technical process is more simple to implement and it is recommended to start here when there is no pressing need for a business glossary. This process involves the consolidation of all existing data sources in the company to a central metadata system which is why proper management of this system is required. If every piece of company data can now be accessed it would be reasonable to make sure that it is possible to manage who sees what. It is also worth considering adding additional technical information to the catalog, like loading frequency. WHY US ? Vision.bi has partnered with Alation, which is one of the leading data cataloguing service providers, as its official representative in Israel. In addition, Vision.bi has practical experience in large projects in Israel with informatics tools and in leading selection processes in order to adapt customers to the most suitable product. Ecoppia is the world leader in robotic solar cleaning. Harnessing the power of automation, big data, and the cloud, Ecoppia’s technology changes the face of the solar industry. The company’s groundbreaking solution offers a cloud-based, connected platform and a suite of robotic solutions for smart management of solar plants. Since 2013, Ecoppia has been empowering the solar power revolution by enabling year-round peak panel performance and lowering LCOE (levelized cost of energy). More recently, in December 2020 Ecoppia launched an initial public offering (IPO) on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE), after successfully completing the public tender phase. Ecoppia secured $82.5 million from leading institutional investors with a company valuation of $300 million. The Challange Fully realizing the importance and value of harnessing the power of data, analytics and BI, Ecoppia engaged with Vision BI’s experts to create a data ecosystem that will provide significant value both internally and to its customers (leading energy players). Unlike most companies that use business data as a source of internal insights, Ecoppia built a data infrastructure at the core of their product, for their customers to receive BI on the performance of Ecoppia’s product. In fact, a significant part of the value that Ecoppia gives customers are the reports which give them clear visibility of cleaning performance and operation across their solar sites. Vision BI team created the perfect data infrastructure. Using best in class solutions for data lake and data warehousing, DataOps orchestration and dashboard visualization with Tableau. - Maayan Stern, Product Marketing Manager The Solution Building a BI solution on top of the initial data from the log of the cleaning robots was at the heart of the solution. Having Ecoppia’s data ecosystem centered around operational performance was the key. This data included activity reports of how much surface has been cleaned, alerts and reports on maintenance activity, part replacements and more. In addition, as an IoT device there are also external data points such as weather forecasts, salesforce reports or inventory insights that could be added to the mix to generate optimal customer reports. Vision BI team created the perfect data infrastructure. Using best in class solutions for data lake and data warehousing, DataOps orchestration and dashboard visualization with Tableau. This enables them to create all the necessary data processes to create all reports for the management team, and for their clients which are now able to know exactly what is happening on site and provides Ecoppia solid foundations to support their future growth. The visibility and insights Ecoppia provides their customers quickly became one of their unique selling points. In addition, Vision BI recommended the integration of Salesforce data as the optimal next step in their data roadmap. This now enables them to connect business performance to product performance – in addition to other external data points such as weather forecast. The Outcome Vision BI’s has been working hand in hand over the past two years with Ecoppia to help in the creation of an optimal data ecosystem and roadmap – as their true data partner. The team has now an automated infrastructure to inform the business in real-time with all the data they need. What’s more, client reports have been automated through a process that provides them with peace of mind – leveraging new knowledge on the status of their solar panels, and the potential for many more insights that are not related to cleaning but to the overall performance of their modules. Ecoppia is not only a data-driven company but they’re fast becoming a data company in its own right. The amount of insights that they collect across thousands of cleaning robots means that they are not only optimizing the use of data to inform their business and their customers – but also leveraging data at scale which will help them redefine the industry with unprecedented insights that will keep them ahead of the curve for years to come. Zadara’s Cloud Platform simplifies operational complexity through automated end-to-end infrastructure provisioning of compute, storage and network resources. With solutions available on-premises and through cloud and colocation providers, Zadara’s turnkey hardware/software, combined with its pay-only-for-what-you-use model, helps organizations to become more agile without sacrificing features and functionality that enterprises demand. Zadara operates hundreds of public and private clouds worldwide with an expert team that provides services and support 24/7. Zadara offers all three storage types and related protocols, including block storage (iSCSI, FC), file storage (NFS, CIFS/SMB) and object storage (S3 & Swift). Zadara is headquartered in Irvine, California with locations in London, Tokyo, Yokneam (Israel) and Bangalore. The Challange Zadara has significantly evolved and expanded since it started nine years ago. A logical and necessary step as part of their growth was to establish a robust data ecosystem, starting with a great BI foundation for the organization. Zadara’s customers include large enterprises across industries including hightech, finance, and telco, so they needed help for someone that didn’t only understand their BI & data challenges but also those from their customers. After interviewing multiple companies for over a year, they enlisted Vision BI to help them solve their toughest data challenges which included orchestrating and aligning their product usage data alongside financial data and ERP data to calculate customer usage, customer spend, and to forecast revenues. In order to achieve this, Vision BI was enlisted to advise on selecting the optimal data stack, engineer the perfect infrastructure, and orchestrate and automate data flows. This data could then be used as the backbone of Zadara’s financial operation with their customers – from Deal win through onboarding, billing to forecasting. In addition, this data also had to provide the company’s management team with transparency and visibility to monitor their progress and inform critical strategic decisions as the company scales. Organizations wanting to be data-driven is not a cliche for us. We’ve evolved from being a small to medium sized company and it’s amazing to witness how we can now rely on data, collaborate better and become a data driven company. Especially during covid, which needed collaboration and data really became more essential than ever during this period. - Omer Paz, Senior Director Head of Business Applications The Solutions As part of the process. Vision BI recommended the optimal data stack for the team. A combination of Snowflake for data warehouse, Rivery for data integration and orchestration, and Tableau for visualization and reporting. This data stack fit their budget and plans, and it accommodated the existing infrastructure and teams. The game-changing solution for the company was the ability to see a monthy financial forecast at any time based on data that is updated daily. Through a tool which became the “pulse” for the organization, the team has access to the most important revenue data on a daily basis. In addition, Vision BI helped leveraging product usage data to help Zadar’s team get a 360 customer view on how their solutions are used by customers and which products are more popular. This helps the decision-making process for the company’s product and solution architects, which work alongside sales teams to get under the skin of their users – and make optimal product roadmap decisions. The implementation of our Business Intelligence system was a significant milestone to Zadara and enabled us to expedite our business growth through automation, planning and forecasting. Furthemore, while automating major operational processes we were able to optimize the company’s performance which resulted in a significant uplift in our Gross Margins - Nir Ben Zvi, CFO&COO The Outcome When Zadara started with BI, their main goal was to provide senior management with the visibility they needed on financials and product usage – and doing so in a way in which manual processes could be automated. Their BI team used to spend a few days every month to gather this data on tasks which are now redundant. However, since then, the role of BI and the data processes around it have greatly evolved and expanded at Zadara. Reports and dashboards are now widely used by sales teams and middle management. As a truly data-driven organization, teams across the business receive a daily email with a report on the status of their accounts or their business operation. Their recently built dashboard for the sales order process, which helps them monitor the sales funnel and onboarding timeline between opportunity creation and delivery has been a game changer for the organization. Having transparency and visibility on inefficiencies throughout the process help them reduce the order period between 15-30% – a huge win for the business. The company’s excel sheets with numbers which had to be manually updated has been replaced with a screen that showcases a live dashboard that showcases the pulse of the business. From financial performance, to forecasting to sales & delivery pipelines. Zadara’s vision to orchestrate all data processes didn’t only save them time and money – but also help them modernize the business by leveraging all data points and democratizing access to insights across all teams and divisions. Omer Paz Senior Director Head of Business Applications
